Three pedestrians hit by car; two with life-threatening injuries

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Emergency crews responded to an accident Monday night where three pedestrians were struck by a car, according to Capt. Grant Cesarek with Rural Metro.
Cesarek tells KGUN9 that the intersection of Drexel Road and Benson Highway is closed, and all three people were taken to the hospital.
The five men appeared to be in the middle of the intersection when they were hit. One 15-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries including a broken arm and broken leg when he was thrown through the windshield.
A 20-year-old has life-threatening internal injuries after he hit the drivers side and was thrown to the curb.
The third patient is also 20-years-old and has minor injuries.
They were struck by a 23-year-old man driving a small white passenger car. The man stayed on scene and is working with deputies.
Rural Metro worked with Pima County Sheriff's and the Tucson Fire Department on this accident. TFD had an ambulance nearby and was able to transport the patients quickly to the hospital.
