TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The Arizona Department of Transportation will continue overnight repaving of a portion of I-10 throughout the end of September.
The roadwork is part of ADOT's $3.4 million project for continued improvements on I-10 that includes removing the top layer of pavement, repairing the concrete pavement beneath the top layer, applying a smooth driving surface with rubberized asphalt, installing new roadway markings and reconstructing guardrails along this segment of the highway.
The overnight road maintenance will take place between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
On the night of Sunday, Sept. 23, the right lane of westbound I-10 will be closed from Rita Road to Kolb Road. The same area will be closed the following night, along with the entrance ramp at Kolb Road will be closed.
On the night of Tuesday, Sept. 25, the right lane on westbound I-10 will be closed from Kolb Road to Wilmot Road. The westbound I-10 exit ramp at Wilmot Road will also be closed.
During the ramp closures, drivers can use the eastbound and westbound entrance and exit ramps at the adjacent intersections.
