BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. (AP) - A mother in Bullhead City has been arrested on child abuse charges after her 3-month-old son was hospitalized because of seizures and doctors discovered he had numerous broken bones.

Police spokeswoman Emily Fromelt says 20-year-old Emily Lillian Williams was arrested Wednesday evening and jailed on child abuse and neglect charges. Online court records showing if she has a lawyer aren't yet available.

The infant was taken to a local hospital on Sept. 15 and was flown to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas for treatment. Fromelt says the baby had broken bones in various stages of healing. This child is still hospitalized in the hospital's pediatric intensive care unit in stable condition.

Fromelt says a police investigation determined Williams was responsible for the child's injuries.
