BUTTE, Mont. (AP) - Authorities in southwestern Montana say a body found about a mile and a half away from an abandoned vehicle is likely that of a 71-year-old man who was in the process of moving from Arizona to Montana.

The Beaverhead County Sheriff's Office tells the Montana Standard that the vehicle belongs to 71-year-old James Richard Bailey. The car parked on U.S. Forest Service land was reported abandoned on Tuesday by a horseback rider, and searchers on Thursday found a body.

Authorities say Bailey was in the process of moving from Casa Grande, Ariz., to Butte, Mont. He was reported missing in early August.

Beaverhead County Coroner Ron Briggs says the body is being taken to the Montana State Crime Lab in Missoula for a positive identification and cause of death.
