BENSON, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities have released the identity of a man who died after his tractor plunged about 100 feet into a ravine in a rural area north of Benson.
Cochise County Sheriff's officials said Monday that the victim was 89-year-old Louis Lancaster.
His daughter called sheriff's deputies at mid-afternoon Saturday and said she could not contact her father. The woman had spoken with Lancaster on a hand-held radio at about noon and he told her he was on his tractor on a road outside the community of Cascabel.
A county search and rescue crew was sent to the area along with a state police helicopter.
The helicopter crew spotted the tractor in a ravine. Ground searchers climbed down to the tractor and found Lancaster dead.
Authorities say foul play is not suspected.
