LUKEVILLE, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - A 24-year-old woman was arrested Saturday for trying to smuggle marijuana and heroin into the U.S. while her two young children were in the car, according to Teresa Small, a spokeswoman with Customs and Border Protection.
Small tells KGUN9 that Stephanie Schrider, from Blaire, Okla., was stopped by Customs and Border Protection officers for a secondary inspection while she was trying to enter the U.S.
A search of her Chevy truck turned up about 83 pounds of marijuana and almost five pounds of heroin.
The drugs were valued at more than $100,000. Schrider was arrested and turned over to Immigration and Custom's Enforcement.
Her children were released to a family member.
