FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - A person has been pronounced dead after a single-vehicle collision in which the individual lost control of their vehicle and struck a tree Sunday.

The Coconino County Sheriff's Office, Ponderosa Fire Department and Lifeline Ambulance responded to the report of an injury accident near milepost 17 on Forest Service Road 141 south of Parks, Ariz., at around 3:00 p.m. Sunday, according to Gerry Blair of the Coconino County Sheriff's Office.

When Deputies arrived, an Emergency Medical Technician already at the scene reported that the driver was unconscious, not breathing and without a pulse, Blair said.

Medical personnel arrived on scene a short time later and pronounced the individual dead.

Coconino County Deputies, Detectives and Death Investigators from the Coconino County Medical Examiner's Office continue to look for factors that contributed to the driver losing control of the vehicle and striking a nearby tree.

The victim's identity is being withheld until next of kin can be notified.
