PHOENIX (KGUN9-TV) - Police in Mesa, Ariz., are searching for a man in an armed robbery and kidnapping case who may be heading to Tucson, according to Sgt. Maria Hawke with Tucson Police.

Mesa police alerted TPD that a man approached a woman there, asking for a ride. When the woman agreed, the man pulled out a knife in the car and threatened her.

The woman was stabbed several times and the man stole her vehicle and drove her to a remote area south of Florence.

He left the woman in the desert and possibly got a ride from someone on Arizona 79 and Florence-Kelvin Highway.

Mesa police believe the man may be heading to Tucson and there is a $1,000 reward for information regarding his location.

He is described as Hispanic male, between 18 and 21 years old, 5'6'' and 160 pounds. Police also say he speaks Spanish.
