PIMA COUNTY, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - The Pima County Department of Transportation has completed the restoration of Silverbell Road and it is now open to all traffic.
The closure of the road was a result of the storm damage that occurred on July 29.
Officials with Pima County told KGUN9 that the embankment needed repair and crews installed a new cut-off wall on the east side of the road. The wall is designed to protect the roadway from further erosion, and will be about 300 feet long and up to eight feet deep.
Pima County also planed to install 600 feet of new pavement .
The estimated cost of repairs for the damaged section of Silverbell Road is $200,000, which does not include utility inspection or repair costs to utilities.
