TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - North Houghton Road is now open after Tucson police narrow in on potential bomb threat investigation.
Maria Hawke of the Tucson Police Department says the suspicious device has been determined non-explosive, allowing roadways between east 5th Street and east Broadway Blvd to be opened.
Detectives will continue to investigate the device to determine what it is, but it does not seem to be a threat, according to Hawke.
Around 3:30 Friday afternoon, Tucson Police shut down an area of north Houghton road to investigate a suspicious device.
Officials believed the device could be incendiary in nature, making it necessary to divert traffic during the initial investigation.
