Trial set for top-ranking member of drug trafficking organization

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A high-ranking member of a drug trafficking organization is set to go on trial August 21, 2012 for attempting to distribute 12,906 kilograms of marijuana.
Mexican national, Gregorio Lopez-Rodriguez, 58, was arrested in Mexico August 25, 2011for allegedly transporting multi-ton quantities of marijuana from Mexico to the United States between February 2007 and June 2008.
Lopez-Rodriguez was indicted for conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute along with 22 other defendants. He was extradited to the U.S. July 6, 2012.
