TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Embattled Tucson city councilman Paul Cunningham is speaking out about his troubles.
Cunningham has been under fire since he was accused of being drunk and making sexual comments towards city staffers during a business development trip to San Diego.
In Tuesday's city council meeting he made a statement that he'd only released in print before now.
He hesitated as he began: "I've...I've....I acknowledge that I had too much to drink and said some things that weren't appropriate. I apologize for my behavior. I have some personal issues that I'm dealing with and will be making amends to anyone I've offended including my constituents as best I can. I am participating in an alcohol treatment program."
Cunningham says he'll have no more comment until the city's done investigating his actions.
