Barricade subject arrested, IED's discovered
TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Rodney Bruce Woodville, 46, was arrested by the Pima County Sheriff after almost a six-hour barricade situation.
Sgt. Dawn Barkman tells KGUN9 that around 10:45 p.m., deputies responded to the 5600 block of West Louisiana Street in reference to an unknown problem.
Neighbors called 9-1-1 to report that they could hear yelling coming from a residence.
As deputies approached the home, Woodville discharged a gun at the deputies.
Deputies immediately locked down the scene and attempted to negotiate with Woodville to come
out of the home. It was unknown if anyone else was inside.
At approximately 4:30 a.m., Woodville voluntarily exited and was taken into custody.
Woodville has been arrested on four counts of aggravated assault, one count of weapons
misconduct and one count of arson of an occupied structure.
Deputies discovered Woodville had constructed improvised explosive devices. They observed IED components and a blast seat where an IED had exploded. Several hazardous chemical experiments were also located.
