PARKER CANYON, Ariz (KGUN9-TV) - The School Canyon Fire has been moving fast through brush and grassland.

It rushed to 7,700 acres by late Tuesday afternoon--1200 acres in the U.S., the rest on the Mexican side of the border.

The US Forest Service rushed to attack the fire with aircraft and firefighters on the ground.

Two large helicopters are in on the fight, along with 4 heavy air tankers, two small air tankers and two planes to help guide and coordinate the drops.

By Wednesday afternoon, the Cochise County Sheriff's Office said the fire is 75 percent contained and crews are working on hot spots and mop up.

On the ground, 12 fire engines are going after the fire, along with two 20 person hand crews fighting the fire up close.

By Wednesday afternoon, the Cochise County Sheriff's Office said the fire is 75 percent contained and crews are working on hot spots and mop up.

The Parker Canyon Lake campground has been evacuated as a precaution, but no structures have been damaged. It is now a base camp for the firefighters.

Investigators say the fire is human caused.

Crews hope wind and severe weather remain at bay as they work to contain this fire.
