Former FWHS teacher sentenced for sex with a minor
TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A former Flowing Wells High School Teacher was sentenced today for sexual conduct with a minor, according to Anne-Marie Braswell with the Pima County Superior Court.
Braswell tells KGUN9 that Christina Marie Carbone, 23, was sentenced to 30 days in jail and three years probation.
Deputy Dawn Barkman tells KGUN9 that on May 2, the Crimes Against Children Unit learned that a teacher from the Flowing Wells School District was possibly engaging in sexual relations with a minor.
Detectives made contact with a 16-year-old male victim. Following their interview with the victim, evidence was collected and processed.
Carbone met the underage teen in March 2012 at a social function, says Barkman.
The victim is a student of the Tucson Unified School District and was not a student of Carbone at the time of the criminal activity.
