TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Tucson Police are investigating the death of a 23-year-old man.
Sgt. Maria Hawke tells KGUN9 that on the morning of April 23, they received a 9-1-1 call regarding a deceased male found in an apartment located at a complex in the 7700 Block of East Speedway Boulevard.
Officers responded to the complex and learned that maintenance personnel from the complex had entered the apartment to investigate the source of a bad odor. When maintenance personnel entered, they located an apparently deceased male and immediately called authorities.
Initially, officers noted no suspicious circumstances or evidence of foul play. However, when an autopsy was performed, the death was ruled a homicide.
The male is described as a 23-year-old African American male and had known gang associations.
Little is known regarding what led up to and caused his death. It is likely that he died sometime between the dates of April 15, and April 23.
Anyone who may have knowledge of the circumstances surrounding his death or have information
relating to suspicious activity during the period of April 15, to April 23, please call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
