TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Former Wildcat starting forward, Jesse Perry, 22, is facing some pretty serious charges just a month before graduation. On Saturday morning, he appeared before a judge facing felony charges of domestic violence, aggravated assault and restricting the airway of the alleged victim. He was released from jail on Saturday without having to pay bond, but a judge issued several conditions during the hearing including: Perry is not allowed to have contact with the alleged victim or drink alcohol. Perry's attorney argued that he does not have a criminal history.

Perry is accused of getting into a verbal fight with a woman he is suspected to have had a romantic relationship with earlier this week, state authorities.  Tucson police say the victim, an adult female, was taken by family members to a hospital and treated for her injuries, then released.

Authorities with Tucson Police's Domestic Violence Unit and detectives report the victim had been at Perry's apartment, near the intersection of West Grant Road and North Los Altos on Thursday evening.

The victim and Perry had been involved in an argument, which resulted in a physical assault upon the victim by Perry, police report.

Authorities state the victim was able to leave Perry's apartment with the assistance of friends.
Perry has been charged with one count of Domestic Violence Aggravated Assault, a Class 4 Felony. He has been transported, booked into the Pima County Jail, and released Saturday afternoon. It's not clear if he has legal representation at this time.

According to authorities, the Arizona Athletic department assisted police in locating Perry; he turned himself in to Police Friday evening.

University of Arizona director of athletics Greg Byrne in response to an incident involving senior men's basketball player Jesse Perry says: "The Department of Athletics, the President and the Dean of Students office are fully aware of the situation. This matter is in police hands and we will fully cooperate and assist them as needed. At this point we will have no further comment."
