TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Currently, the semi-annual 4th Avenue Street Fair includes 400 arts and crafts booths, fun, food, and attractions. There are two Street Fairs per year, one in spring and one in winter.

The 4th Ave. Spring Street Fair 2012 is held March 23rd, 24th and 25th. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day and the cost to attend is free.

The Street Fair takes place between Ninth Street and University Blvd., along Fourth Avenue.
The Fourth Avenue Street Fair brings together arts and crafts vendors, 35+ food booths, 2 performance stages--Community Stage North and Main Stage South, as well as countless street musicians, food vendors, jugglers, street performers and the always popular, no-cost Arizona Virtual Academy's Tucson Children's Museum, which features a hands-on-art pavilion for kids with face painting and balloons. All this, along with tons of other fun activities which are packed into three fun-filled, street-fair days.

The Fourth Avenue Street Fair began in 1970, when Fourth Avenue merchants placed tables in front of their stores to attract customers and potentially increase revenue before the holidays. From those humble beginnings evolved one of the premier street fairs in the nation, drawing crowds of 200,000 to 350,000. The 4th Avenue Street Fair currently ranks as one of the top visual arts fairs in the country, according to Street Fair officials.
