TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Carondelet St. Mary's Wound Healing Center in Tucson has partnered with National Healing Corporation to gain access to more resources to help patients heal and manage chronic wounds.
This new partnership allows specialists and researchers at the center to share and receive patient outcomes with wound care experts around the world, according to Lisa Contreras, manager of external communications.
"Our patients have benefited from the extensive data and information available to the Wound Healing Center physicians and nurses," said Jennifer Biggs, RN, Sr. Director of Nursing at Carondelet St. Mary's Hospital. "New evidence-based wound care protocols and advanced wound care treatments provide a wide range of options for every patient, which result in more significant healing."
The Wound Center uses advanced treatments that include different types of therapy and bio-engineered skin substitutes to help patients suffering from diabetic ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds.
"The impact of our physicians and nurses is evidenced daily by our patients walking out of this center healed," said Dave Smith, Program Director at the St. Mary's Wound Healing Center.
