TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A Tucson man has admitted to voyeurism charges of taking photos of a boy using the restroom at a west-side elementary school.
Judge Richard Fields sentenced Owen Dix, 35, to three years probation Monday morning. Dix pleaded guilty last month to two counts connected to taking photos without consent.
Investigators say Dix was at Banks Elementary School in December to assist with a holiday food drive when the incident happened.
A 7-year-old boy told the school principal and deputies that he saw a man take two photos of him while he was in a restroom stall, according to search warrant documents.
The incident impelled Tucson Unified School District officials to evaluate protocols for school visitors and volunteers.
Dix is due to have a review hearing July 25, 2012.
