TUCSON (KGUN9 TV) -- For just the second time in the last quarter century, the Arizona basketball team missed out on the NCAA tournament. As a consolation, the Wildcats received a number-one seed in the NIT. They will host No. 8 Bucknell (24-9) on Wednesday night at McKale Center at 6:00 p.m.
Here is the full NIT bracket.
The Bison were automatic qualifiers for the NIT after winning the regular season title in the Patriot League. They lost to Lehigh in the Patriot League Tournament and did not earn an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
The NIT is played at the home site of the higher-seeded team for the first three rounds, after which the winners advance to New York for the semifinals and final.
As a No. 1 seed, could potentially host three games if it keeps on winning. The Wildcats will not be able to host a game on March 16th because of a UA gymnastics meet at McKale Center, but will likely host a second round game on March 17-19 if they get past Bucknell.
