TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Four current and one former University of Arizona Football player were arrested on March 2, following an incident at a house party.

Sgt. Maria Hawke with Tucson Police tells KGUN9 that six people were detained following the altercation on North Norton.

Sophomore cornerback Jourdon Grandon, sophomore offensive tackle Fabbians Ebbele and sophomore offensive lineman Eric Bender were arrested and charged with criminal trespassing and assault.  Sophomore safety Jared Tevis was arrested and charged with trespassing.  Former player Joshua Robbins, is being charged with criminal trespassing and assault.  Another current player, Justin Washington, was in the vehicle at the time of the incident.  However, he is not being charged.

Everyone was cited and release at the scene.

Greg Byrne, Arizona Athletics Director issued the following statement in regards to the incident.

“We are taking this matter seriously.  We are cooperating fully with the Tucson Police Department, and disciplinary action will be handled accordingly. Due to federal student-privacy laws we will have no further comment.”

9OYS reporter Marcelino Benito went to Wednesday afternoon's spring football practice. Head Coach Rich Rodriguez said he would not answer questions related to the case, but 9OYS asked anyway.

"I'll make the statement one more time," Rodriguez said. "We're not trying to be evasive. We'll cooperate fully when it's all said and done. I'll make some further comments at that time."

KGUN 9 obtained a copy of the police reports. Witnesses say Tevis was the only football player invited to the house party, but he showed up with several uninvited guests. For unknown reasons, a fight broke out inside the house. Several witnesses report seeing Ebbele and Grandon throwing punches at both men and women. One female victim sustained a bloody lip.

According to information in the police reports, most individuals involved refused to press charges or get involved in the investigation. One female victim is the sole person who decided to move forward with charges.

At this point, it's still unclear what disciplinary action Rodriguez might choose to take after this incident. Grandon and Ebbele did not suit up for practice Wednesday afternoon. It was the last practice before the University of Arizona breaks for spring break.
