One person dead following two-vehicle collision
TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A two-vehicle collision on I-19 has left one person dead. Arizona Department of Public Safety Investigators are looking into a fatal crash on I-19 which authorities suspect alcohol played a roll in.
The crash occured just before 2:00 a.m. Monday when the driver of a 2008 Honda was speeding on I-19 when she crashed into the back of a truck.
The driver of the Ford pick up, 56-year-old Martina Sonoqui, swerved to the right and the truck flipped. Sonoqui was ejected and killed. Police say she was not wearing her seatbelt.
The driver of the Honda, 31-year-old Cholla Tai Meaudine of California, was also injured and taken to the hospital, where she was treated, then released.
Meaudine was then arrested and charged with Second-degree Murder, Criminal damage and Possession of marijuana.
The collision investigation is still on going.
