Toby Keith OK Kids Korral 'built with love'
Stephen L. Betts
There are no doubt several families of children with cancer who are thankful for Toby Keith this year, as the country superstar's foundation finally saw its longtime effort, to build the OK Kids Korral in Oklahoma City, pay off with the opening of the 25,000 sq. ft. facility on Nov. 21.
The state-of-the-art Korral has 16 rooms (12 overnight suites that sleep five people and four daytime suites), neutropenic wing for children with weakened immune systems, gourmet kitchen, Oklahoma Route 66 indoor play room, Oklahoma-themed outdoor playground, game room, family resource room, laundry room, theater and reflection room.
"OK Kids Korral is like Ritz Carlton meets Disney World and I couldn't be more excited to open the doors to children with cancer," says Toby.
Located two blocks south of the Children's Hospital at OU Medical Center, it will also house the Toby Keith Foundation's offices. For more information on OK Kids Korral, how to donate and volunteer to help, visit www.tobykeithfoundation.org.
