Taylor Swift movie, 'The Giver,' was learning experience

Taylor Swift traveled to South Africa last month for her role in the upcoming film, "The Giver," which stars Oscar winners Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges. Although she was only there for a week, the experience is one the singer-songwriter will obviously treasure for a long time.
"I learned so much," Taylor tells Extra. "I did all my scenes with Jeff Bridges. He is just a master. He is just incredible. Learning from someone like that on set I was just -- 'How did I get here?'"
The 23-year-old plays the character of Rosemary, for which she dons a brunette wig. She says the film, based on the young adult novel, was "the ideal situation for me because it’s a great cast, incredible movie, wonderful script, amazing director, small role."
As for bigger movie roles, those may have to wait.
"I want to do the right thing," she notes. "I'm not just going, 'Man, you know what I need right now? A starring role.' It would have to all line up. It would have to be a lot of stars aligning for it to happen, because I live to write songs."
Taylor is back in the studio and writing songs for the follow-up to her latest multi-platinum album, "Red."
