Country star Josh Thompson and rock band Imagine Dragons made surprise visits to healtcare facilities in Music City last week, teaming with Musicians on Call (MOC) Nashville, which brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients.

On Wednesday (Feb. 26), Josh returned to the VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System's Nashville campus to participate in its weekly Bedside Performance Program. Josh, whose father was a military veteran, went room-to-room to visit with patients and their families and play such hits as "Way Out Here" and "Beer on the Table."

In town to play a sold-out show at Bridgestone Arena, Grammy winners Imagine Dragons hosted an exclusive listening party for patients and families at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. The group answered questions during an informal Q&A and posed for photos with attendees as they listened to the group's latest album, "Night Visions."

To date, MOC Nashville's volunteers have played for more than 400,000 people nationwide. Musicians on Call continues its mission through room-to-room hospital performances by both local musicians and national celebrities as well as the Music Pharmacy Program. Josh Thompson will release his second album, "Turn It Up," on April 1.
