The lost Johnny Cash album, "Out Among the Stars" is being prepped for release on March 25. Among the 12 "forgotten" recordings, which are not demos or outtakes, is a tune called "She Used to Love Me a Lot." On March 11, that song will be released on a 7" vinyl disc with a remix by Elvis Costello. The remix will also appear on the upcoming album. Pitchfork.com premiered the remixed version on their site Tuesday (March 4).
The songs on "Out Among the Stars" were unearthed by Sony Music/Legacy Recordings and Johnny's son, John Carter Cash, in 2012. The album, recorded in 1981 and 1984, features Johnny's duets with both Waylon Jennings and June Carter Cash. Two tracks are credited as being written by Johnny Cash: "Call Your Mother" and "I Came to Believe."
