Each week on NBC's "The Voice" from now on, Blake Shelton will have to sit a few chairs away from People's magazine Sexiest Man Alive for 2013. Maroon 5 frontman and fellow "Voice" judge Adam Levine takes the top honor (and the magazine's current cover). But Blake does at least have a spot among the other studs in the current issue.
For the second straight year, the country superstar has been chosen as Oklahoma’s representative for the issue's "United States of Sexy" gallery. The singer has come a long way from his hometown of Ada, but admits it hasn't always been a smooth transition to country stardom and a TV career. "You know, being just a redneck from Oklahoma, I've learned the hard way that it’s a different world to step into that Hollywood spotlight," he says (quote via the Oklahoman).
"The Voice" host Carson Daly teased Adam with a copy of the magazine on Tuesday's night's telecast, saying, "I'm sorry, Blake, it just didn't work for you, buddy." "This is why I drink so much. He stole my thunder," Blake shot back. "You're the sexiest man in my book," Adam added. "I want you to know, I think you're beautiful for what's on the inside," Blake said, after which Adam left his chair to deliver a hug and a kiss on the forehead of the sexy Oklahoman
Blake's fellow country star Luke Bryan also made the cut, as did "Star Trek" hottie Chris Pine, soon-to-be "Tonight Show" host Jimmy Fallon, Justin Timberlake and Ronan Farrow, among others.
