Billboard Music Awards finalists include top country artists

Luke Bryan is among the finalists for the upcoming Billboard Music Awards. The country superstar will compete against rappers Drake and Eminem and pop superstars Bruno Mars and Justin Timberlake in the Top Male Artist category. Luke is also vying for Top Billboard 200 Album with "Crash My Party," in competition with albums by Beyoncé and his competitors in the Top Male Artist category. He's also among the finalists in the Top Billboard 200 Artist and Top Country Artist categories.

Florida Georgia Line is up for Top Duo/Group against Imagine Dragons, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, One Direction and One Republic. Taylor Swift is a finalist in the Top Social Artist category with Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, One Direction and Rihanna. The Top Country Artist finalists are Luke, Taylor, Florida Georgia Line, Darius Rucker and Blake Shelton.

Garth Brooks snagged a nod for Top Country Album for his "Blame It All on My Roots" box set, with Luke's "Crash My Party," FGL's "Here for a Good Time," Blake's "Based on a True Story" and the Robertsons' "Duck the Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas" all scoring nods in the category.

Top Country Song finalists are: "Crash My Party" and "That's My Kind of Night" (Luke Bryan), "Cruise" (Florida Georgia Line feat. Nelly), "Wagon Wheel" (Darius Rucker), and "Boys 'Round Here" (Blake Shelton feat. Pistol Annies and Friends).

The 2014 Billboard Music Awards will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Sunday, May 18, at 8:00 PM ET on ABC.
