Liz Kotalik (coat-ah-lick, because everyone has a hard time saying it!) anchors the 7 a.m. morning show "GMT Extra" on the CW Tucson every weekday. She also reports for later newscasts. Liz started her career as a multimedia reporter at KGUN9 after graduating from Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism. While reporting and anchoring with ASU's daily newscast "Cronkite NewsWatch", she was able to cover the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, the shooting of border patrol agent Nick Ivey in Naco, and the 2012 Republican Primary Debate in Mesa.
During her time at ASU, Liz held many internships, including CNN's Washington D.C. bureau and 48 Hours Mystery. She also worked as a breaking news intern with the Arizona Republic, writing over 400 stories for online and print.
Liz has a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast journalism with a minor in political science from ASU.
In her free time, Liz loves taking day trips to interesting places around Arizona. She loves traveling, food and of course, her dog Baxter. She also will never turn down a game of laser tag!
