Keaton Thomas started work at KGUN9 in June of 2014 and he is happy to be bringing breaking news and stories that matter to Tucson as the morning reporter and muti-media journalist.
Keaton is a western kid at heart growing up in both Denver and Southern California, and he is thrilled to be close to home again. You could say Keaton started reporting in middle school when he worked for the morning news and announcements. He did the same in high school. Then, Keaton went from Southern California to Chicago to attend Northwestern University to study Journalism. While there, he held almost every position at the school's Emmy winning student broadcast, Northwestern News Network.
Before going on air, Keaton interned at local stations in both Denver and Los Angeles. He began his professional on-air reporting career in Lansing, Mich as a general assignment reporter at WLNS-TV.
Outside of work, you might find Keaton hiking around Tucson or on the golf course playing the sport he grew up with. He'll also be on basketball courts dreaming he was good enough to play for the Arizona Wildcats.
And don't bring up Super Bowl XLVIII around him, because he is a big Denver Broncos fan!
