Openly-gay football player Michael Sam isn't just headed to the NFL, he will also be starring in a documentary series.
Oprah Winfrey's OWN Network has bought the rights to make a docu-series about Sam.
The show will follow Sam as he attends training camp, and then his debut with the Rams.
Winfrey issued this statement: "We are honored that Michael is trusting us with his private journey in this moment that has not only made history but will shape it forever."
ESPN says the working title for the series is "The Untitled Michael Sam Project." Sources say that there will be 6 to 8 episodes in the series.
No air date has been set, according to FOX Sports. The series will be produced by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Amy Rice and Craig Pilgrim's Pilgrim Studios.
