Winter storm watch issued for central, south central Kansas

By George Lawson. CREATED Feb 2, 2014

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for much of Kansas, and it will be in effect Monday evening through Tuesday.

Forecasters say the precipitation could begin as freezing rain or sleet across Sedgwick, Kingman and Harper counties before changing to snow by midnight Monday night.    The heaviest snow is expected between 3 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Tuesday.    Some areas of central Kansas may see 6 to 7 inches of snow.
