Wichita Thunder shuffles roster
Coming off a lackluster opening weekend that saw the team go 1-1-1, Wichita Thunder Head Coach Kevin McClelland did some roster shuffling Tuesday.
Gone are rookie forwards Nik Yaremchuk and Jake Hendrickson. Joining the team is rugged forward Jason Wilson and forward Jared Walker. Standout forward Matt Summers was put on the 30-day injured reserved with an upper body injury.
Wilson was assigned to the Thunder after splitting time in the American and East Coast Hockey Leagues last season. Wilson was drafted by the New York Rangers in the 2010 NHL Draft.
Walker was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2004 NHL Draft ,and was a teammate to current Thunder players Jon Booras and Jesse Dudas.
Both players are expected to play this weekend, as the team heads to Colorado to face the Denver Cutthroats.
