Strong winds threaten to topple utility pole in residential neighborhood
Some people had to be evacuated from their home when high winds threatened to knock over a large utility pole near 55th Street South and Hydraulic in Sedgwick County.
KWCH Eyewitness News reports Westar Energy workers were sent to the area to stabilize the electric pole, which was leaning toward the home.
There were no reports of injuries.
Strong winds caused some power outages in Sedgwick County and other parts of Kansas. About 2,300 customers were without lights at one time.
