Police find apparent gambling operation in southwest Wichita
Police arrested three men and seized cash and gambling equipment after discovering an apparent gambling operation in southwest Wichita Monday evening.
Lieutenant Doug Nolte said an officer was flagged down around 5:30 p.m. by two men who said they were in a warehouse where electronic items were being sold at liquidation, and they told the officer they had lost several thousand dollars playing a game machine.
Officers found gaming machines and seized several thousand dollars in cash. They also arrested three men, ages 38, 51 and 58. Detectives from the special investigations section of the police department will continue to look into the operation.
