Park City standoff ends with gunman in custody

UPDATE 8:30 P.M. - Park City police say they have a man in custody after a four-hour standoff at a home in the 6300 block of North Ulysses.   The man fired shots through the front door of the home, and his wife escaped unhurt.  The man refused to come out and a Wichita police SWAT team surrounded the house.   Sedgwick County sheriff's deputies also provided vehicles and support during the standoff.   The man was taken into custody around 7:45 p.m.

UPDATE:  Park City police, a Wichita police SWAT team, and Sedgwick County sheriff's deputies have been involved in a standoff with an armed man inside a home.  The man, believed to be in his 40's, fired shots through the front door of a home in the 6300 block of North Ulysses around 4 p.m. Friday.  The man's wife escaped unhurt, and no injuries have been reported.

Streets have been blocked in the area as officers try to talk the man into giving up.

Police in Park City have surrounded a house where shots were reported to have been fired.  The report was made shortly before 4 this afternoon in the 6300 block of North Ulysses.

No details have been released, but police have set up a command post at 61st and Grove. Dispatchers said there were reports of shots fired inside a home.  Officers have moved into the neighborhood and have been trying to make contact with a man inside.  There are no reports of any injuries.   

A SWAT team has been called to the area and police have been telling surrounding residents to stay in their homes.
