Domestic call leads to police shooting in Haysville

Police shot a man to death inside of a garden-level apartment Tuesday morning in Haysville.
 
Officers were called to a domestic disturbance at 10:43 a.m. in Village Green Apartments, in the 400 block of W. Sarah Lane.
 
"Officers arrived to find an active disturbance between two individuals, one of  which had sustained injuries," said Jeff Whitfield, Haysville Police chief. "The situation resulted in an officer involved shooting. The alleged suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of her (minor) injuries."
 
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation, the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office and the Sedgwick County district attorney are investigating.

One person is dead following a shooting in Haysville.
 
It began shortly before 11 a.m. when police were called to the report of a domestic disturbance at an apartment complex in the 400 block of Sarah Lane.  Moments later, there was a report of officers in trouble and shots fired.
 
One person was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.  Another person suffered minor injuries.
 
We have been able to confirm no officers were hurt in the incident.  KFDI News has a reporter at the scene and we will have more information as soon as it becomes available.
