When McConnell Air Force Base's 22nd Security Forces Squadron German Shepherds aren't overseas deploying from Blackhawk Helicopters, engaging in combat and protecting troops, they're in Wichita going through vigorous training and helping local law enforcement agencies with specialized tasks such as bomb detection.
KFDI reporter Joe Cadotte was recently trained by McConnell military working dog handlers on how to safely interact with combat canines. Cadotte put on a bite jacket, ran across a field and was brought to the ground twice by Pita, McConnell's 'most aggressive' Shepherd.
