Update: Three children hurt in west Wichita Crash

A little girl remains in critical condition in a hospital after an accident at Kellogg and 151st Street West.

The accident happened just after 7 a.m. Friday. Lieutenant Carl Mackey says the driver of a van was trying to turn left onto 151st from eastbound Kellogg when it was broadsided by a car that was going westbound on Kellogg.

All 4 people in the van were taken to a hospital. 5 year old Alexandria Thimesch remains in critical condition. 7 year old Noah Thimesch and 11 year old Tristen Thimesch are also in a hospital. Their mother, 38 year old Gail Jean Thimesch was treated and released.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says the mother and the children were all wearing safety restraints.

The driver of the car was not hurt.

Four people were hurt, one critically, in a two-vehicle crash at Kellogg and 151st Street West.

The accident happened during the rush hour Friday morning. The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office says the driver of an Dodge minivan tried to turn left when it was broadsided by a westbound Pontiac.

The most seriously-injured person from the van is a child. Officials would not comment on the age or sex of the victim. The driver of the second vehicle was not seriously hurt.

Traffic was blocked for more than an hour on Kellogg between 135th and 167th Street West.
