Bombardier Learjet announces layoffs
The Wichita Business Journal is reporting that Bombardier Learjet will layoff as many as 200 workers due to slowdowns in the Learjet 85 program.
Company spokesperson Molly Edwards says that 100 of the layoffs will be permanent employees, 70 contract workers and 40 additional workers will be positioned elsewhere in the company.
Edwards says the moves are likely to be temporary, as the laidoff or repositioned workers will be needed again once delays with the Learjet 85 clear up.
