AT ISSUE: 6,000 cases of domestic abuse reported in Kansas in 2013

By Joe Cadotte. CREATED Sep 2, 2014

In 2013 there were 6,000 reported cases of domestic abuse in Kansas and for every documented cases there are five to 10 cases that go unreported, said Gordon Bassham, executive director of Wichita Crime Commission, Inc.

Bassham helped launch a website over the summer that he says is the most effective tool available for victims of domestic abuse.

In Sunday's At Issued, Bassham talked about dvfreewichita.org, domestic abuse in Kansas and his long career as a nationally recognized journalist; and later as a police officer in Kansas.
