25 construction firms hiring at WATC job fair
More than 25 construction firms will be at a Saturday Wichita jobs fair looking to fill positions.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, a job fair, at Wichita Area Technical College (WATC), will offer various construction jobs, at 4004 N. Webb Rd.
WATC, the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce’s Business and Education Alliance and the Associated General Contractors of America are holding a Construction Careers Job Fair to address a shortage of trained workers needed for area construction jobs.
Construction workers’ pay in Kansas averaged $47,900 in 2013, that’s 13 percent more than all private sector employees in the state, said Joe Ontjes, WATC spokesman.
