Texas couple critical after Kansas Turnpike crash near Emporia

A Fort Worth, Texas couple remains in critical condition after a crash on the Kansas Turnpike east of Emporia.
Investigators said a northbound car left the roadway to the right, lost control and crossed both northbound lanes into the center median in Lyon County.
Troopers said the Volvo struck a Honda in the left southbound lane. The driver of the Volvo, Dimitri Dimitroyannis of Harris, Texas, had minor injuries. It happened at 12:18 p.m. Tuesday.
Nancy Cornelius, 75, was flown by LifeStar to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Kay Cornelius, 77, was rushed by ambulance to Newton Memorial Hospital-Emporia, then flown by LifeStar to Wesley Medical Center.
Troopers said all three people were buckled up.
