By Joe Cadotte. CREATED Jun 8, 2014
Police say a Colorado man has been arrested after leaving the scene of a deadly crash in Hutchinson.

Our news partners at KWCH 12 report that it happened on 11th Avenue around 1:50 a.m. Sunday. Hutchinson Police said 28-year-old Homer Beebe was driving west when his SUV collided with a pickup, driven by Pedro Perez. Perez, 34 of Hutchinson, died at the scene.

Police said Beebe drove away from the accident, striking a parked car on Main Street. Beebe then ran away from the second scene. A passenger in his car, Marena Gumber, 28, of Palisade, Colorado was flown to a Wichita hospital to be treated for head injuries. She remains in serious condition at this time.

Beebe was arrested at a home on Sunset Drive later Sunday morning. He is being held on failure to report and leave the scene of a fatality accident.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
