Is Miranda Lambert about to become a movie star? That story tops the country music news now trending on NashvilleEdge.com's weekly video feature, Nashville Edge Minute, created in partnership with NewsChannel 5 Nashville's "Talk of the Town."
Miranda Lambert is already one busy lady, juggling a successful music career, an animal rescue charity, a wine business, two boutiques and a soon-to-open bed and breakfast, not to mention her marriage to Blake Shelton. But now comes word that she’s also set to star in a new film titled “Something in the Water.”
While it’s still in the early stages of development, we’ve learned the comedy has cast Miranda as one of five women competing against their mates in a bass fishing tournament. Sounds like it’s right up her alley!
The film will mark Miranda’s first significant acting role. She previously guest starred in an episode of “Law and Order: SVU.”
Kenny Chesney is back behind the camera with another football documentary. He has co-produced a new doc on legendary football coach Steve Spurrier called “The Believer.”
This is the third football film Kenny has produced, following 2011’s “The Color Orange: The Condredge Holloway Story” and 2010s “The Boys Of Fall.”
His newest film will debut on ESPN August 27th.
Jason Aldean is officially the most downloaded man in country music! Earlier this week the Recording Industry Association of America bestowed the title of “top digital male country artist” on Jason in recognition of the more than 21.5 million downloads and on-demand song streams he’s racked up in his career, more than any other male country star.
Jason’s fast-selling latest single, “Burnin’ It Down,” pushed him over the top to achieve the special honor.
