Country stars are getting animated. That story tops the country music news now trending on NashvilleEdge.com's weekly video feature, Nashville Edge Minute, created in partnership with NewsChannel 5 Nashville's "Talk of the Town."
We’ve already told you that Brad Paisley is lending both his speaking and singing voice the newly-released Disney movie, “Planes: Fire and Rescue,” in which he plays the role of a pickup truck.
Now, Kellie Pickler is getting animated as well. The bubbly country star is lending her voice to a new VeggieTales movie, “Beauty and the Beet.” That’s beet, as in the vegetable of course.
In the film, based on the classic fairy tale “Beauty and the Beast,” Kellie stars as a sweet potato named Mirabelle, the lead singer of a family band who forms an unlikely friendship with an angry beet.
“Beauty and the Beet” features seven original songs performed by Kellie, which will appear a companion CD that also features her special rendition of the holiday classic “Deck the Halls.”
Kellie’s direct-to-video release will be out in mid-October. Brad’s film opened in theaters last week.
In other news, Justin Moore is getting used to being a father of three. The singer and his wife, Kate, welcomed their third daughter, Rebecca Klein Moore, last week. With the baby’s arrival, Moore joins a long list of country stars who are raising three daughters and no sons. They include Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson and Martina McBride, as well as Faith Hill and Tim McGraw.
Justin’s baby will go by her middle name, Klein, which may be the start of another trend among country stars. Lead singer Mike Eli of the Eli Young Band has a two-year-old daughter who shares that unusual name.
