Garth Brooks expected to announce world tour Thursday

Garth Brooks has scheduled a press conference for Thursday morning, most likely to make the long expected announcement about his upcoming world tour.
A teaser on his Web site that said “the wait is over … 7/7” has been replaced with an announcement of the live streamed press conference, to be hosted at garthbrooks.com Thursday, July 10 at noon ET/9 a.m. PT.
Garth first broke news of the tour to Robin Roberts last December during an appearance on “Good Morning America.” The tour will be Brooks’ first in 13 years. He took a hiatus from the road in 2001 to raise his daughters, and promised at the time a return when his youngest graduates from high school, which happened last month.
Wife Trisha Yearwood is expected to join the tour as his support act and duet partner.
"It sure feels good to get to throw your hat back in the ring," Garth said on “Good Morning America” in December. "All my babies are fine with it. Ms. Yearwood is fine with it. So now I get to do what I love to do, which is play music. I get to be with the person I want to be with, which is Ms. Yearwood."
He also told Robin Roberts his decision to do a world tour this year came down to the fact that he is now largely a "phone call dad."
"Our baby is a senior in high school," he said in December. "My children are off on their own so the guilt of not being there. … I'm a phone call dad now. 'Hey Dad, I love you, can I borrow some money?'"
UPDATE, July 8: Sony Music Nashville has now scheduled a press conference in Nashville at the exact same time as Garth's scheduled press conference on Thursday. Coincidence? Probably not.
