“Dancing with the Stars” pro Derek Hough is going country!
People magazine is reporting that Derek will join the cast of ABC’s “Nashville” during the show's upcoming third season. He will appear in multiple episodes as "Noah West," a 20-something movie star who comes to Nashville to play the role of a famous country singer in a biopic. ABC tells People that Derek's character is a "beguiling and disarming" guy.
The third season of “Nashville” is set to premiere September 24. Don't expect to see Derek’s episodes until October. No word on whether he'll sing in any of his episodes but sister (and former fellow "Dancing With the Stars" pro) Julianne Hough enjoyed a promising but short-lived career as a country singer in 2008 before bailing to pursue an acting career. Her self-titled debut album landed at No. 1 on Billboard Top Country Albums chart in its release week and spawned the top 20 single "That Song In My Head." A second album was recorded for Mercury Nashville and even previewed for the press, but it was never released.
Derek Hough is a five-time champion on "Dancing With the Stars" and an Emmy Award-winning choreographer.
