Ever wonder what it would be like to be in the jaws of a fox? Us either, but you’re about to find out anyway.
A hiker in Round Island, Alaska, spotted a fox and placed his GoPro camera on the ground to try to get a closer look. The curious fox quickly emerged from the brush and immediately pounced on it, ran off with it its mouth and then stopped and chewed up the camera, which somehow managed to continue recording through the whole violent episode.
The man posted the video on YouTube with the appropriate title “Fox kills and eats my GoPro.”
Considering those cameras range from $200-$400, YouTuber “TheOpenLens” seems remarkably cool about the destruction when he finally retrieves it at the end of the video.
He explains in the video’s description that he was in the area “to film wildlife with the University of Alaska Anchorage. My friends were photographing and filming sea lions when I spotted this fox come along. So I stupidly put my gopro on the ground in hopes of getting a close-up. When the fox ran off, I thought I'd never see my camera again. For about eight minutes we looked for it, then there it was! It turns on and records, but the lens is messed up and I'll need to have it repaired. I'm glad the fox itself didn't get hurt or swallow anything that could have harmed it.”
